Trade Plan for 4/20-4/24
The Big Move Last Week Closed right at another Major Level
To start last week $RTY/small caps futures had already broken out, $NQ/Nasdaq futures was right on the verge of a breakout, and $ES/SPX futures was sitting underneath its breakout level. As of end of day Monday, both $ES and $NQ had major breakouts.
I also indicated in the weekly note that I would consider reopening my $NFLX short after an impressive 40%+ move down after my last $NFLX short.
During the last 10 minutes of the day on Thursday I decided to enter a ½ position short $NFLX live on my Discord stream.
$CL/Crude futures had “fakey breaky-ed” in the previous week, so the continued move down was not surprising. HOWEVER, it closed just above where it needed to for it not to be ‘dead’ yet.
Precious metals have been right on target with movement in the bigger picture. ✅
Summary of Market Action Last Week:
· The indices gapped down to start the week once again, but that was the low for the week, and after major breakouts on Monday the indices rose each day. $NQ/Nasdaq futures lead the rally edging out $RTY/small caps futures for the second week in a row.
· $GDX/gold miners booked a gain amidst precious metals advancing, but underperformed after leading for three weeks in a row.
· $XOP/oil equities declined once again as $CL/Crude Oil futures continued to reverse the breakout.
