Last week I had a chop/bearish bias. I had wanted to see more consolidation during the holiday weekend, but it broke out directly and I didn’t think it had enough juice to keep going. In the Sunday note I wrote:

Because I thought there wasn’t enough consolidation to withhold the last breakout and at worst case bears would see ‘chop,’ I continued to short pops all week. ✅💰💰💰 This was obviously especially profitable on Friday when we saw a tremendous down day. My levels worked spectacularly as both $NQ and $RTY closed last week *just* over weekly supports:

$NQ/Nasdaq futures low of the week was 28781.25 and it closed at 29026.50.🎯👀 $RTY/small caps futures also closed just over a weekly support, but for me $ES/SPX futures remains midrange, so it’s all above the daily structure, which I outline in this week’s note.

I didn’t have a bias for precious metals because I found the previous week’s price action to be frenetic. That sometimes happens before large moves and it’s important to know when you don’t have an edge and should wait to act on something as a longer term trade. This week I give ‘stick save’ levels and short term breakout zones.

Despite $CL/Crude Oil futures breaking down from a large diamond consolidation, we saw price gap up and hold. It’s all about the levels here for the next BIG move.

Summary of Market Action Last Week:

· The indices chopped all week into Friday, when we saw a large decline across the board. $NQ/Nasdaq futures was the relative loser for the week.

· Precious metals lost ground during the week, with particularly weak price action on Friday with the indices. $SI/Silver futures had declined slightly week over week in the previous week and it was the canary in the coalmine.

· $XOP/oil equities and $CL/Crude Oil futures held weekly gains despite the broad market.

Trade Plan for 6/1-6/5

Last week I thought that potentially we could see some consolidation in the beginning of the week to work off some of the straight upwards exuberance. The caveat was that my theory could be disproved early because $NQ/Nasdaq futures was close to a daily resistance. On Sunday night we saw a gap up open and that set the tone for the rest of the week. ✅

For precious metals I was slightly bearish bias because of the previous close for both $GC/gold futures and $GDX/gold miners stocks, but the week was truly a rollercoaster of price action and they ended up reclaiming local supports. The relative weakness last week in $SI/Silver futures is interesting given the strength of both indices and gold and it continues to ‘hang’ just under a very strong resistance and what would be a major breakout if breached. This week I give all the levels to watch for a rejection or MAJOR breakout.

$CL/Crude Oil futures had been in a large diamond consolidation for over 2 months and finally broke down on the open last week.

· The indices gapped up on the holiday open and grinded upwards into Friday, when both $ES/SPX futures and $NQ/Nasdaq futures stalled forming daily doji ‘indecision’ candles.

· $GC/gold futures and $GDX/gold miners rebounded last week, but $SI/Silver futures declined slightly week over week, despite strength in both the indices and gold.

· $XOP/oil equities and $CL/Crude Oil futures dropped from a tight weekly consolidation.

Last week I was looking for a flush to start the week because of the previous week’s price action. I noted both $NQ/Nasdaq futures supports for Monday and the weekly support as places for a bounce and specifically called for a long at weekly support:

We did see that flush early in the week and then on Monday $NQ bounced from 28814.75 vs my Monday support of 28818.00. 🎯 💰

The low for the week was 28663.00 vs my weekly long support of 28653.00. 🎯💰

I have been calling for a large imminent move in both precious metals and crude oil. Crude oil closed the week still in consolidation, but precious metals closed with a slight breakdown. 👀

Summary of Market Action Last Week:

· The indices dipped on Tuesday and that dip was bought into Friday. $RTY/small caps futures was the relative strength winner, followed by $NQ/Nasdaq futures and $ES/SPX futures lost ground on the week.

· Precious metals declined and continue to coil for a large move. $GDX/gold miners was the relative strength loser for the week for the second week in a row.

· $XOP/oil equities and $CL/Crude Oil futures declined, but continue to be within a tight weekly consolidation.
